3 Best Essential Oils for Anti-Ageing

3 Best Essential Oils for ANTI-AGEING

Here is my pick of the 3 best essential oils to use in skincare that will help keep the ageing process at bay.

I just love using 100% pure essential oils in my skincare preparations. This list could easily have been the 10 best essential oils but I’ve condensed it down to these 3 marvelous materials, specifically for anti-ageing.

Have a look below, if you aren’t using them already, consider including them into your skincare products. Mind you, these 3 amazing oils aren’t just solely for those with concerns of ageing, wrinkles, fine lines, sun damage and sensitive skin ~ all skin types can benefit from using them.

Your skin, mind, body and soul will LOVE you for it.

Carrying out a consistent skincare regime and using quality skincare products is just one part of the process to achieving the best skin you can.  Beauty is much more than skin deep. Essential oils are of great value when used in skin care products and switching to natural products that are made with pure, natural ingredients, like essential oils is a great step toward achieving healthy, beautiful glowing skin.

Essential oils are highly complex substances. They can be described as the natural aromatic essence of the plant, rather like the equivalent of the human bloodstream.  Aromatherapy is the art/science of using aromatic materials to facilitate healing and to promote optimum performance of the body and mind.

The judicious use of essential oils in skin care helps to rejuvenate and beautify the face and body. It is sometimes referred to as “cosmetic aromatherapy” – a natural way to enhance the skin’s condition and maintain it in good health.  However, following the holistic approach of aromatherapy, we need to look further than just our faces.  As I mentioned earlier, beauty is much more than skin deep.  Lifestyle, genetics, diet, exercise, smoking, alcohol consumption, stress, hormones…all of these factors and more contribute to the appearance of our skin.

But for now…here are my TOP 3 Essential Oils that are best for anti-ageing and a brief explanation why I incorporate them into your skincare preparations.

powers of lavender

1. LAVENDER – universally regarded as one of the most versatile essential oils, and the uses for this amazing plant are almost endless.

At first lavender sounds too good to be true, a cure all with a reputation lasting for thousands of years.  Lavender’s properties are due to its prime actions of balancing and normalizing body functions and emotions. Overall, it is soothing, calming and relaxing.

I like to use it to help cleanse and soothe moisture-deprived skin; to encourage healthy skin and to calm a stressed mind or body. For this reason it is used extensively in our product range and you’ll find it in different quantities in many of our products.

We use lavender in many of our soaps including our Lavender soap, Aphrodisiac soap or our Relaxation soap

Also in our nourishing body butters Lavender Body Butter &  Aphrodisiac Body Butter and in our Massage Oils.

In our refreshing, uplifting facial spray, the Lavender Floral Spray, in our gentle Black Clay Facial Soap, our Facial Cleansing Oil for sensitive, dry skin and also in the mature/ageing Cleansing Oil blend. I have included it in both of our facial scrubs too, the Pink Clay Scrub and Black Clay Scrub

Not to forget it is in our facial cleansers and moisturisers.  Also in our deodorant and also in our Hand & Nail Cream.

Told you it was good! 🙂

2. FRANKINCENSE – oh how I adore Frankincense! It literally smells divine and was traditionally burned as an offering to the gods. It is deeply calming, revitalizing and uplifting. Excellent for dry, sensitive and mature skin it can help rejuvenate skin tone and prevent wrinkles.

Frankincense is a must-have essential oil to use to help slow the signs of ageing, to keep wrinkles at bay and to improve the overall texture, tone and appearance of your skin.  I have found this particular essential oil has been very helpful with reducing my dark pigmentation, evening out my skin tone and improving my skins tone and overall appearance.

Truly, this essential oil is a must-have in skincare.  Psychologically, it is a valuable aid to mediation and prayer, inspiring and can help still the mind. It was traditionally used to drive away bad spirits and to help break links with the past.  An inspiring, mystical, magical essential oil indeed.

You will find Frankincense in our Black Clay Facial Soap and our Facial Cleansing Oil for mature/ageing skin or our Seaweed and Black Clay Facial Scrub and in our Meditation soap and our  Meditation Massage Oil.

3. SANDALWOOD (Australian) – There are many cheap, synthetic Sandalwood products out there but they are no match for the aroma or function of the real thing.

I use Australian Sandalwood, this essential oil is just as good, and in my opinion better than Indian Sandalwood…and it’s Australian! 🙂

Sandalwood is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive. It is very effective against acne due to it’s excellent anti-inflammation properties. It is also a brilliant anti-ageing essential oil. Totally gentle, non-irritant and non-sensitising.  Sandalwood is definitely one of my absolute favourites to use in skincare for its superior skin rejuvenating effect, its soft yet intoxicating aroma and its ability to balance and harmonize.

You will find Sandalwood essential oil in our divine Sandalwood Organic Butter our Sandalwdood Shaving Soap gift set or our Facial Cleansing Oil for sensitive/dry skin.

So there you have it, my TOP 3, absolute favourite essential oils to help with treating the anti-ageing process.

Another BIG tip ~ only use QUALITY products ~ there are so many cheap, synthetic, refined versions of essential oils out in the market place. I use only 100% pure, essential oils in my products. I use them for their superior quality, remarkable performance and stunning aromas.  They are of the finest and purest quality available.
